
Course Description
This comprehensive course in Islamic History provides detailed study of the major events, figures, and developments that shaped the Islamic world from the time of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) through the classical period. Drawing from classical sources including the works of Al-Tabari and other renowned historians, students will explore the early Islamic period, the Rightly Guided Caliphs, the Umayyad and Abbasid dynasties, and the spread of Islam across different regions. The course covers key historical events, the development of Islamic civilization, the contributions of Muslim scholars and scientists, and the interaction between Islamic and other civilizations. Students will develop critical thinking skills in analyzing historical sources and understanding the factors that influenced the development of Islamic societies and institutions.
