
Course Description
This accessible course provides a simplified yet comprehensive introduction to the science of Quranic exegesis (Tafsir), designed for students who are beginning their journey in understanding the deeper meanings of the Quran. The course covers the fundamental principles of Quranic interpretation in an easy-to-understand format, including basic rules for understanding Quranic verses, the importance of context in interpretation, and the relationship between different verses. Students will learn about the various types of Quranic verses, basic principles of Arabic grammar as they relate to Quranic understanding, and the importance of studying the occasions of revelation (asbab al-nuzul).
